Home to unique local varietals such as Fetească Neagră which produces deep, serious reds, and the lighter bodied Rară Neagră. International varieties – namely Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Malbec – are also widely planted. In addition, Saperavi is widely grown here offering a different style to its Georgian roots.
